Or, Why This Page Even Exists?

I read a book properly, twice if it's earned it, then I write about how it's built. Not whether I liked it — whether it holds. Where the weight sits. Which scene is load-bearing and which one is scaffolding somebody forgot to take down.
Then, because I can't help it, I, most of the time, end by asking the question the book refused to answer.
Somtimes, I'll admit which of my own problems the book found. That part isn't a strategy. It just keeps happening. The pieces are long — but the mechanics is longer. There are fewer of them than there would be if this paid the bills.

There was a version of this page that existed for search-engine reasons. My designer was right and it was funnier. This one is more useful.
